The 2024 VACPA Drive-In will focus on “The Next Chapter: Higher Education & Student Support in Virginia.” Higher education is at a critical point where we must reflect on our current practices and figure out how to adapt to the ever changing landscape and diversified student base.

It is the hope of the 2024 VACPA Drive-In planning team that the experience of the Drive-In will re-engage Virginia’s higher education and higher education adjacent professionals and students who want to think creatively and innovatively about student support services; to critically examine the ways in which higher education looks across the Commonwealth of Virginia; and who are committing to centering racial justice and decolonization in alignment with ACPA’s values and strategic priorities.

The 2024 VACPA Drive-In planning team invites educational session proposals that seek to engage with these goals. This Call for Proposals is limited to 60 minute sessions focusing on a specific topic or theme. We encourage folks to use a multi-modal format and welcome creative ways of presenting including but not limited to lecture, panel, slide presentation, spoken word, art, film and musical performances.

The 2024 VACPA Drive-In planning team encourages program proposal submissions from individuals of Color, transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals, women, disabled individuals, and individuals with additional minoritized or silenced identities.
